Camera – Huawei Nova Y63
On the back, the Huawei Nova Y63 has a dual-camera stack headlined by a 50MP primary sensor and 2MP macro lens. In ideal conditions, the primary camera can shoot decently-detailed and colourful photos that are sharp—complete with good-enough dynamic range and natural colours for an entry-level machine.
There is also a 2MP macro lens that is great for close-up shots but struggle in low-light conditions and the image can be quite soft or grainy. Simply put, the camera app comes with your basic portrait, night mode, and HDR modes, which do make a difference in quality of your photos under different light circumstances.
Up front, the 8MP selfie camera snaps sharp and well-lit images that would be perfect for sharing on social media or answering video calls, with software-enhanced beauty modes to soften skin tones and improve facial features.
It records video at 1080p for both the front and rear cameras, but you’re capped at 30fps. There are no advanced stabilization features, but it is good enough for casual clips and social shares.
The Huawei Nova Y63 has a respectable camera set up for its price range, good enough to use during daytime shooting and delivering selfies that are more than fine as long as you’re not looking to chase other advanced photographers with.
