Software-wise, the Huawei Nova Y63 comes pre-installed with EMUI 12 based on Android but without native Google Mobile Services (GMS) support. It uses Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) instead, and the AppGallery as its main app store. For apps that are not available directly in the store, users can use the Petal Search tool to locate them and then install APKs from reputable sources.
And now EMUI 12 interface comes with clean, modern design that adds a new layer of polish to the animations and ease with which you interact with your phone. This includes some nifty features such as Multi-Window for split-screen multitasking, Device+ for quick pairing with supported Huawei laptops, tablets and wearables and MeeTime to make high-definition video calls between Huawei products.
In many regions, security is taken care of through monthly updates and Huawei’s own Phone Clone tool makes data migration easy. It has a battery-efficient system, with various performance and power-saving modes to prolong use.
New users will have to make some adjustments in the absence of GMS, but otherwise the software is smooth, stable and feature-rich — especially for existing Huawei fans.
