The TECNO Spark 40 Pro+ has a 6.78-inch curved AMOLED screen which the company claims has “1.5K resolution” running at a 144Hz refresh rate. In my editor testing, the panel performs well for it’s nearly Full HD+ class with sharp images and lively colors. The high refresh rate means smooth animations and responsive scrolling too, but also gives a better gaming experience – one of the handset’s most obvious strengths.
In brightness, the display achieves approximately 700 nits of brightness in manual operation, and is suitable for use both indoors and outdoors in the shade. When the phone’s high brightness mode activates whilst in direct sunlight, levels can peak up to 1,600 nits, ensuring that whatever’s onscreen remains easy to read despite intense sunlight.
(NB The very high brightness figures often quoted in marketing literature are derived from a small area of screen being entirely white, not full-screen measurements as for our own figures here.) In day-to-day use it still impresses, with fantastic contrast and visibility, especially for video playback and gaming. The AMOLED even serves up deep blacks and vibrant colors.
On the whole, the Spark 40 Pro+’s display provides a decent premium viewing for its tier. It features smooth refresh rates and strong outdoor visibility, along with vivid color quality, which means it is a great companion whether you’re having fun or being productive.
