TECNO Spark 40 Pro+ is equipped with a single rear 50 MP main camera that supports phase-detection autofocus and electronic image stabilization (EIS), ensuring crisp clear still photos and smoother video. There’s also an extra sensor on the reverse side, but it isn’t specified, presumably for depth sensing, or something for one or the other of the cameras to do to enhance the scene.

For the selfie lovers, the front-facing camera has an impressive 13MP and is paired with a dual LED flash for stunning selfies and video calls, even in low light conditions. Dual flashes on the front and back ensure consistent exposure when the lighting is less than ideal.

The same remains in the quality of video on both the front and rear camera, with video recording up to 2K at 30fps, which is not often found in this category and punches out clear video for vlogging, vlog calls and social media. There’s also dual recording (this has a nice dual-viewing video as the former), which records from the front and back cameras at the same time, great for those who wants to create their own videos or tells a story.

In practical use, the main camera does well in the daylight and its sharp focus, good contrast and natural edge detection in portrait shots. Skin colors are accurate; the camera leans a bit to warm hues. In lesser light, Super Night Mode can offer a brightening of scenes and a reduction of noise, though it can sometimes soften fine parameters. By and large, you do get some strong snap shooter and social media-worthy images out of the Spark 40 Pro+; it’s very good for casual image making and content creation, in well-lit conditions at least.
