Speakers – Huawei Mate XT Pro ultimate

The dual stereo speaker setup on the Huawei Mate XT Extreme gives you rich and balanced sound while open in tablet mode or passed through as a phone. A stereo speaker setup offers a good balance of audio for watching videos, playing games and listening to music — it just wouldn’t get particularly loud.

In our tests, the Mate XT Ultimate also produced some quite loud levels, and although it wasn’t the loudest of devices we had tested this was more than enough for use even in very noisy environments without audible distortion at maximum volume. Midrange and treble frequencies are punchy, providing articulate, clear vocals and separation between instruments, while the bass is there but not overwhelming—which is par for the course with premium foldables because getting ultra-deep bass out of a slim form factor just isn’t doable.

The Huawei HIlink driver enables HD audio and AI sound optimization using an advanced Histen tuning algorithm that can adjust the current to match different types of contentalsy played. An atx, in other words, that will let us listen to movies and podcasts with good voice clarity while music playback gives us body.

There is no 3.5mm audio jack on the Mate XT Ultimate, but its type-C port does support high-res wired playback (to some extent for those who cannot let the connector typo die) and it also supports LDAC Bluetooth, making this an option for mobile audiophiles — just not necessarily of the unsubtle type (we miss you).

The speakers provide an overall… very flagship listening experience, so the Mate XT Ultimate makes for a solid multimedia partner.
