The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 FE packs a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display that offers an FHD+ (2640 x 1080 pixels) resolution that provides clear and colorful visuals. The panel on the S21 Ultra hit a high of about 1,600 nits in our lab testing when set to auto outdoors, making it very easy to see in direct sunlight. Even when adjusting the brightness manually, it was easy to hit 1,000 nits or so which is still a solid amount of light for day-to-day indoor use.
A 120Hz adaptive refresh rate is also featured on the surface, so lower rates are used to conserve power and 120Hz when scrolling and during animations. That AMOLED display means that colour accuracy is excellent, with deep saturation and blacks. The panel is further HDR10+ certified to improve media consumption providing a wider contrast and better detail on both darker and light zones.
Samsung had to make some improvements i the durability of its foldable Ultra-Thin Glass (UTG) layer too, and although you can still kinda see it, that crease is less visible than a few generations ago. The touch response is speedy and accurate, which makes it amazing for both gaming and multitasking.
In general, the brightness, contrast and color reproduction of the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE display is really good and is arguably one of the best displays in this segment for a foldable phone -at least on paper-.
