In our lab measurements, the display of the iPhone 15 Pro Max still maintains Apple’s lead in industry-best screen performance. That includes a 6.7-inch Super Retina XDR OLED screen with 2796 x 1290 resolution, skyline ambient light sensor and True Tone support; up to 460 ppi and ProMotion compound refresh rate of �up to�120Hz. Together, they provide ultra-smooth scrolling, instantaneous touch response and amazing visual clarity.
Published Brightness tests come with remarkable results: the display manages typical brightness levels of 1,000 nits and up to 1,600 nits in HDR mode; it can peak at a blinding 2,000 nits when exposed to direct sunlight. It means great outdoor visibility and high contrast in bright or dark conditions.
The P25 has excellent color accuracy too. The iPhone 15 Pro Max is freaking fantastic with almost a perfect DCI-P3 coverage and calibration. Whites are bright but not too soft, blacks are actually black, and all the colors pop without being oversaturated making this a great screen both for work (photo and video editing) and play.
It does so with the benefit of ProMotion to dynamically adjust from 10HZ to 120Hz, doing wonders on battery life while making sure that you never run out of processing speed. The Always-On Display is energy-saving and can be individualized, displaying a constant preview of the most important information.
