iPhone series
Apple’s iPhone series is probably the most successful product ever introduced to the consumer electronics market. Since the release of original iPhone in 2007, the company released a new iPhone almost every year. As a result, every generation of iPhone was different in terms of design, performance, and additional features. Therefore, iPhone series started with iPhone 2G that did not required physical keyboard and used capacitive touch screen for user-interface. Later, the series introduced iPhone 4 with Retina display; iPhone 5 series that discontinued the 30-pin dock connector in favor of the Lightning port of the iPhone 6 series that expanded the screen size from 4-inch to 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch. iPhone X saw the new design without home button and new Face ID and edge to edge OLED display. The iPhone 11, 12, and 13 series included some enhancements in cameras’ view, 5G connection and battery capacity. iPhone 14, and iPhone 15, introduced Dynamic Island, Crash Detection and Emergency SOS via satellite. Finally, iPhone 16 series will introduce new A18 chip, improvement in camera system, and some AI innovations. Overall, each iPhone increased the expectations and permanently set a new standard regarding design, connectivity, and software.
